2025 Winter Summary

We've been making steady progress on various minor tasks, both on and off the aircraft, including starting the cleanup of the Shimmy Damper. While there is still some way to go, the results so far have been better than expected, and it’s already showing significant improvement.

Over the weekends, we dedicated several productive hours to the project, focusing on stripping down the shimmy damper and its associated components. That stage is now complete, leaving just a bit of fettling before the parts are fully prepped for priming. This careful attention to detail ensures that everything is in the best possible condition before moving on to the next steps.

As we embark on what we hope will be a busy and highly productive year, we’ve also begun work on painting. The primer has now been applied to the shimmy damper and its components, creating a solid foundation for the finishing layers. At the same time, we’ve made progress on the cockpit fairings, which have now received their base coat.

This marks a strong start to the year, and we’re looking forward to maintaining this momentum as we move ahead with further restoration and refinishing work. With plenty more tasks on the horizon, we’re excited to see the continued transformation of the aircraft in the weeks and months to come.
